Emergency Closure of the School
If we decide to close the school or not to open, we will let you know in two ways:
1.
We will inform Hertfordshire County Council, who will post this on www.hertsdirect.org and also announce it on BBC Three Counties Radio.
2.
We will text our parents using our SchoolComms system [make sure that we have up-to-date contact details!]
At busy times, one or other of these may be slow, so keep an eye on both.

As a Church of England Voluntary Aided School we also have a separate 'Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools'. We were equally delighted that this too awarded us the grade 'Good' for our life and work as a Church school. Copies of this report are also available from school or by clicking here.

Children and staff at Park Street C of E School are able to access the internet though the Hertfordshire Grid for Learning [HGfL], provided to all Herts schools.
The safety of children when using the internet [eSafety] is of paramount importance to our school and to the HGfL. We have a detailed policy which sets out our approach, including sets of rules for the children. Click Key Stage 1 | Key Stage 2 | SMILE Poster for copies of these rules.

We know that parents and guardians will also be concerned that children stay safe when using the internet at home and elsewhere. The HGfL website has a section dedicated to eSafety with advice for parents, governors, teachers and, of course, the children themselves. You will also find here a description of the particular measures taken to ensure that the HGfl is an appropriately protected internet service for schools
