Welcome to Year 5!

Highlight of the week 05/10/26: What a fantastic experience we had during our steel drum workshop! The children explored exciting Caribbean rhythms and created some amazing music together. We developed important musical skills, including keeping a steady beat, following rhythms, listening carefully and playing in time with others. It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm, teamwork and musical talent on display! Well done Year 5!

Highlight of the week 21/09/26: Today, Year 5 had their very first ukulele lesson, and what a fantastic start it was! The children were excited to get their hands on the instruments and begin learning some of the basics. It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved, listening carefully and enjoying making music together. We can’t wait to continue developing our ukulele skills over the coming weeks!

Highlight of the week 07/09/26: We had a brilliant day exploring our new topic, “Why Do Oceans Matter?” The children researched the oceans and created their own fact files using Chromebooks. We finished the day by making dioramas of different habitats, allowing the children to get creative while learning why these habitats are so important. A fantastic day of learning and an awesome start to Year 5.
