Personal Development
At Park Street, Personal Development sits at the heart of everything we do. We want every child to grow into a confident, responsible and well‑rounded young person, ready for the next stage of their education and life beyond primary school. Through a carefully planned journey from EYFS to Year 6, we build independence, character, resilience and ambition.
Our curriculum and wider opportunities help pupils understand themselves, develop positive relationships, contribute to their community and experience the wider world. From Forest School and community visits to leadership roles, careers events and enrichment activities, we ensure every child has the chance to thrive.
Explore our Personal Development Learning Journey below to see how these experiences grow year by year.

British Values
We actively promote the fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance throughout daily school life. These values are woven into our curriculum, assemblies, behaviour expectations and wider opportunities so that pupils learn how to contribute positively to modern Britain.
Children experience democracy in action through pupil voice groups, class voting and opportunities to share their ideas. This is strengthened through visits from local MPs and our participation in UK Parliament Week, where pupils learn how decisions are made nationally and why their voice matters.
We teach the rule of law by helping pupils understand why rules keep us safe and how laws support communities. Individual liberty is encouraged by giving pupils the confidence to make informed choices, express themselves safely and understand their rights and responsibilities. Mutual respect and tolerance are developed through our inclusive ethos, our PSHE and RE curriculum, and opportunities to learn about different cultures, beliefs and perspectives.
Through these experiences, pupils grow into respectful, responsible and active citizens who are well prepared for life in a diverse and modern society.
